my stock 95 GS held its own against my friends stock 02 mustang. both are manual, i know how to drive, he doesnt. i never got further behind then his side view mirror and every time i shifted id catch right back up to him. i know this isnt a GT vs gst-t but thought maybe it would be interesting.

the gt has around 260hp and 310lbft. it does the qaurter in low 14's and the gst does it in mid to low 15's, you do the math. I really dislike mustangs (the newer ones anyway) due to both the styling and the type of people that drive em. All opinions aside though the eclipse will have a tough time winning the race and anything more than a quarter mile it will lose for sure.

~5hp per psi on the stock turbo, you're 12psi now so you still wont be there. besides, if you have the stock bov turning up the boost wont do anything, itl leak and youll still be at 12psi.

just a question but where are you getting your times from? becasue the 1998 Ford Mustang Cobra SVT 5.4 14.0 this makes me thing the gt will run slower than low 14's.

Hey thats a nifty little web site.....thanks!
I'm putting my money on the GST. I raced a few mustang GT's when I had a '96 prelude VTEC with only a header and cold air intake. It was always close but I usually won. I figured I had about 205-210 (maybe more) HP and the prelude is considered a heavy car, around 3800 lbs. GST is about 3600lbs. IN '98 GT's only made 225 HP, not sure on the weight but the V6 models weighed 3800lbs.
All in all from the numbers you would think that the mustang would be a little quicker but its not. The few I've raced havent been but maybe I just got a bunch of idiots who didnt know how to drive them........NAHHHH......mustangs are just slooow[sm=icon_rofl.gif]

Ok if you want to compair stock cars goto www.kbb.com then click on compair user cars. Any way here are the stats for the 98 mustang gt coupe HP 225 @ 4750 RPM Lb/ft 290 @ 3500 RPM curb weight 3278 lbs.
Now here is a 95 gs-t HP 210 @ 6000 RPM Lb/ft 214 @ 3000 RPM curb weight 2877 lbs. Also be fore you race make sure to remove the spair and only have 1/4 of a tank of gas if you really want remove the passanger seat and the back seat also any sub you may have.

What he said. Also being FWD the GS-T will have a hell of a time hooking up especially with just street tires and such.
On the highway, the race will be a lillte closer, however the Speed Governor in the 95-99 Turbo FWD's will shut power down
at approx 135-140.
