Harmonic Balancer Removal Problem
Hi guys,
My best friend is working on his 98 Eclipse. He is trying to remove the Harmonic Balancer, but there's a problem. He inadvertently used the wrong tool, and now the center where the puller tool attaches is broken (broken lip). Has anyone else encountered a situation like this? We're racking our brains trying to find a way to get this balancer off. Any suggestions? I can try to post pictures later if that helps. Please let me know if there is any additional information needed too. This car was in storage over the winter and early spring months (before the part broke of course), so he hasn't been able to drive it since November. So take pity on an Eclipse-less man and help him get his car back on the road. :( Thanks in advance. |
make sure the 4 bolts are removed, tap the out edge with a hammer and just wiggle it out. thats the easiest way. I've never had to use an actual puller for anything
