Headers

RE: Headers
You can keep the stock exhaust and just put in headers, But you may not hear a whole lot of difference. After the exhaust gasses pass through the headers, they have to go through the cat converter, a resonator, and a muffler.....all will help some to drone out the engine noise. The place where you may hear a difference would probably be the engine bay. A header is fairly easy to put on, the hardest parts are taking the stock header off, and then making sure to re-torque everything down after a few heat cycles. It's basically a bolt-on affair, however make sure the new header has a place for the oxygen sensor or you'll have to drill and tap a place, then weld a bung in.

RE: Headers
beware of backpressure though. if you are opening up the top of your exhaust and bottlenecking the rest, its going to back fire whenyou let off the gas.. TRUST ME, I put a new hotshot header on my SpecV and yeah, it added 12 hp to the wheels, and yeah it sounds mean as hell, but it sputters a lot when I let off the gas... not cool
