Help with Instrument Cluster/Speedometer

Hi,

I have a 1998 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder 2.4L Convertible and I have a question:

My dash board lights where the speedometer is and such don't light up whenever I turn on my headlights. What could I do to help solve this problem? (Also if its something to do with the fuses could you guys direct me to a fuse box diagram since my car came without the box over the fuse box so I have no diagram). I checked all of the fuses and they are all fine too.

Thanks!

You could have burnt bulbs in the cluster. You'll have to remove the cluster to get to the bulbs. Just the cluster mind you and not the entire dash.

Yeah, I already checked for burnt bulbs and they were all fine. The way I see it, I think it could be electrical because when you turn on the lights shouldn't the whole dash (air, etc.) buttons light up because they don't whenever I turn on my lights.

Also another problem...I loosened a screw on the thing that holds the mirror switches because my rear drivers mirror was hard to move and now its not working at all. All the other mirrors work except that rear drivers one. After I loosened the screw all the mirrors didn't work but then I found a dead 10 fuse and replaced it with a 25 (Could that be the problem?).

Thanks again!

Oooo, never go with a larger amperage rating than what was originally installed. Put a 10 or lower amp fuse, never go bigger.
Check and be sure the that the mirror switch is plug in correctly and that they have proper connection. Check all you r fuses again, to include the ones under the hood since they supply the main power to certain parts of the car.
I hope that larger fuse didn't fry the dash lights rheostat (dimmer).
