I have a 97 sypder eclipse (non-turbo) with auto trans. I bought it for a friend and was going to let him pay me back but he never paid me a dime then he calls me and says the car want go in drive but goes in reverse. So I think it needs a trans but I know nothing about imports. What kind of trans does it have and which ones will work. Is there something to check to see if its something else?

 

2.4ltr 4g64 motor.

get and austomatic trani from a 4g64 engine and bolt it up. however in my opinion... there is no WAY i'd be doing work on somebody's car if they weren't paying me for the car...

 

Yeah I'm not giving the car back unless I see cash, For now I want to drive it for gas reasons and my wife loves it. What vehicles does this trans come in? where can i find one?

2g spyder and 3g 4cyl. i'm pretty sure that the 4g63 trani does NOT bolt up to the 4g64 or else there would be a plethera of them out there.

 

I was thinkin about the 3g. I dont think they are the same though

 

the 3g im pretty sure comes DOHC but is no diferent in the block and trani.
