Default Hey everyone newbette here :)....

Hey everyone Im new to the mitsubishi forums and have a few questions. Im sure their pretty commonly asked. Anyway, I will be purchasing either an Eclipse GS or GT ( probably the GS unfortunately ), the newer body style 2000 - 2002. I've read several websites stating the differences between the GS and GT. Some of which I already knew. I know that the GT has apx. 50 more horsepower than the GS. My question is how big of a difference is the GS and GT? I also heard that brakes and suspension is better in the GT. I only want to spend apx. $8,500 on the car, and dont want too many miles on it ( no more than 60k). In everyones opinion do you think I should settle for a GS ( I looked at one this weekend ...tampa blue pearl, 47k miles, GS, cloth interior, no spoiler, and their were minor scratchs however the dealer said everything would be painted and cleaned up before it was sold to me for $8,400). I do not know exactly where the car is comming from. What I was told was that an older woman owned it ...passed away, and her daughter inherited it. The daughter had no need for it there for is selling it through the dealership(she knows the owner). Should I buy this car? The dealer absolutley won't budge on the price. Or... should I still try to push for a GT in the price range I'd spend knowing it may have a bit higher mileage. Hopefully that info helps so that I can get back someone elses input. Thanks!

Thanks guys ...today I will be going to take a look at a 2000 GT it has 39K miles, and the asking price is $8,750. Which is under the HBV butvthe guy really needs to sell the car ...so hopefully it will be legit once I take a look.

I think what you need is a 2nd gen gsx just because they are a great car and you could get a nice one for the money you want to spend. you would also be higher up on the rarity foodchain since the 3rd gen are a little too popular for my liking. and of course the gsx would haul more ***!
