Thank you, guys. I didn't know this forum existed before I had this problem, but it is a Godsend. The 2 plastic rivets were sheared off and the intake would lift off the metal to which it was meant to be attached. This resulted in no air getting to the cylinder. Indeed, one of the rivets was in the bottom of my air filter box. I was convinced this would be a big expensive problem, but it cost me $1.30 in plastic rivets and took 5 minutes to fix.
Thank you guys so much.

If this is possible to happen to the 2G, where would this happen? I have the same problem on my 2G Eclipse GST, and I dont know what is wrong. Could it still be the intake? or rivets? and if yes, where are they located?

yea...i belive on those cars the box is on the left side of the bay. There should be bolts that hold it down. Just check those. If there fine then you have soem other type of problem. Maybe a leak or something.

RE: Hiss and No Power at 4500 RPM
Do you guys have any idea what else it can be? When I hit about 4,500 rpm it blows black smoke out of the exhaust until i shift. This only happens when i am "hitting" it. Its not a lot of black smoke, its a light and small black smoke cloud. I know my turbo isnt "out" because i do not hear a death whiny noise. So you do guys have any idea what it is?
