you need transfer cases LOTS OF STEELE shafts mountsdrive shaft different front and rear axels and differentials and it just keeps goin and goin and goin...ur better off buyin a car that has a rear mounted engine and add in a transfer case to make it AWD (wich will too need mods and fabrication)

This is ridiculous.....Honestly i dont even know if it could be done. It would cost astronomical amounts of money and time. Endless fabrication and custom parts up the a$$. Think of it this way, in order for the engine to drive the car forward it needs to stay facing the same way is it now. If you move that to the back you now have a driveshaft that would have to be turned around and somehow reconnected to the tranny on the other side. Its hard to type but just think about it. Also if you flip the engine so lets say the tranny would be on the drivers side instead of the passenger then it would drive the wrong way, see what im saying. I know you stated part of this in your first post but come on.....

Just buy an mr2. They have all the same things you want except for the RWD, then try that conversion. I seriosously doubt this would even be possible in an eclipse. Why is a mid engine setup so important to you anyway?

There will be to write up on how to do this. Your going to have to just rip your motor out and start moving parts. Look at other rear engine cars and find out how they work. You will be looking at moving the gas tank too since thats where your engine will be. I have seen a truck conversion where the motor was put in the bed of the truck. That was only rear wheel drive though.

I agree with natedogg.. This sounds like a 2 year project and almost all custom parts.. Ive never heard of this being done, and I think its with good reason.. You would have to completely redu the whole car.. But if you have the time/money anything can be done...

You want to make the mini all wheel drive right? Then i suggest finding another and removing the front axels and fabricate them to the rear of yours. In theory its not too bad.

I have seen a DSM converted that way...was pretty bad ***
