ok so say i get the mbc and an safc II im still a little lost on how to tune it up so it runs better what would i be looking for with these additions

you cant tune it untill you have a wideband to read your AFRs. Even still you prob are going to need some fuel upgrades to beable to tune in any direction since your stock fuel cant do much for you.

This is what I did:

Fuel upgrades:

190lph or 255lph fuel pump (need a fuel pressure regulator for the 255), I chose the 190
Injectors (I got 550cc's)
AEM Uego Wideband Air/Fuel Ratio Gauge (very important)
SAFC-II (use readings from air/fuel gauge to adjust fuel parameters)

and to get the most reliable tune, get a pocketlogger, like a palm pilot with a program and a cord that connects to your obd-II, that reads all of the cars data, this ensures you're not going to blow something up and lets you know whats going on with your car.

How much more power did those mods provide, Burn? Ive got like... none of those installed but a wideband. Though I do have a Walbro 255 from a disaster of a Celica project car...

Its not so much that youll add power on the stock turbo. its more effective on slightly better turbo is where the gains will start to jump up

With my old turbo setup, the car ran like crap with all of those things I listed installed except the SAFC-II and the datalogger. Once I installed the SAFC-II and started adjusting the fuel parameters based on what the a/f ratio gauge was telling me, It made a huge difference. Before the SAFC-II, I couldnt outrun a sunfire, after I installed it, I out-acceleratedmy buddy's2006 BMW 325xi with a pretty rough tune.Nothing amazing, butI would say that's an improvement.

get a walbro 190 fp and a turbo upgrade before anything else. When ready to tune get 660s, safc, and something to tune with all at once. widebands are nice, but dont give you enough info. So you know your af ratio, but does that mean you can keep upping the boost??? You wana know what your timing curve looks like, an i think thats the most important piece to know how your engine is handling all the extra power. I tuned off a pocketlogger alone and had excellent results. Of course I could have benefitted and squeezed out some more power by going to a dyno/using a wideband, but i kept my tune conservative and was still able to hit mid 11s
