yea, so i finally took the advise of everybody on the forum. i'm selling all of my bottom end rebuild parts, my block w/ cranks and caps, and the car. i'm getting a GSX again. even if i did spend the extra 3k and get my car up to where i want it... allll i'd do is spin. SO! AWD, here i come. P.S. for any 420a guys thinking about turbo'ing your car... DON'T, sell the car, get a gs-t or gsx. i know you don't wann hear that but, it's SOOOO much cheaper.

Honestly, you're right about your decision IMO. Yes, it hurts to sell away what you've put into your present car, but, you're still correct about your statement so it's a catch 22. I converted my car for the price of a GSX/TSi AWD ($6500), yeah, I could have found an Eclipse/Talon cheaper, but not with a rebuilt motor with a 6 bolt bottom end, 1G rods, ARP head studs, Cometic head gasket, BS delete, 4 bolt rear, and a running complete conversion, not to mention a 4 spider center diff. I got a hell of a deal, really. Anyway, it is a good decision if you follow through with it. It won't be as expensive to go fast and with AWD, you won't have traction issues................yet ;) |

This should be a sticky... when people ask us about making more power from the 420a.... we should include this lol.

it really should. . . not only did i have the funds at hand, i had the pistons (020 over), rings, rods, knife edged crank, block, main caps, main and rod bearings, arp main and head studs, melling oil pump, walbro 255 fuel pump, turbo, piping, intercooler. basically everything you need to BE turbo'd i just figured after i actually got it turbo'd, i still gotta get AEM wideband - 250, AEM tru-boost - 250, injectors - 250, engine managemend - 200, tuned - 500-700, when i could just sell what i have and get a GSX with money to spare. . . its just pointless. yes i like being different but there is a line that has to be drawn somewhere. my hopefull final plans w/ GSX are gt35r, depending on when it spools, a 25shot to spool it where i want with built motor and all suporting mods.

Dude there are shells on DSMTuners for sale for like 5-800 bucks man. They only require an engine...

where?? you talkin about GSX shells? in decent shape? i definatly want 97-99. let me know where and i'll get 2, i have 2 engines, one is a 6 bolt
