For $5,600 i can have an 11sec Eclipse, and that's only running 15 - 18psi. Stage 3 kit from Ripp. For another 5 grand, I'm sure I could get even more.
note... 15-18PSI on Ripss kit which IMO is a POS. but that is only at 410ishWHP you cant make your car much faster without a TON of money to add to the already $5600 your talking not to mention im guessing that price is not including gauges and ripps long tube headers because there hearders are $1100 in itself. the difference betwee 410-500HP on a fwd car in a 1\4 mile is not alot. and at 400hp the 3G is barley an 11sec car. At 400 on an EVO your at mid 11s and you saved half the money if not more.

The 3G v6 motor is not very well inclined to handle boost. It is fussy and can break with a small spike in PSI just ask Mike Rulez how that goes lol. The GTS motor is even worse off than the GT motor and unless you have DEEP pockets your 3G will never see 11.5-11.9 1/4 mile times.

750s are over kill for just a 16g, unless your going to run over 24psi.
and 24psi is overkill on a 16g, too much heat = knock, unles you are running race gas in which you wont need that much injector anyway. go with 660s. 7's are too much, expecially if you only tune with an safc, 550s you will run out of fuel at 19-20 psi and thats no fun right?

Deep pockets are for sure. For about $15,000 i could put 600whp to the ground, that's head/cam/intake and turbo if I went through Russ. And that's not even the most I can get out of the motor according to him.

im not even gonna comment on this madness.....ok bottom line when comparing the 6g72 to the 4g63t is the 4g63 can take much more abuse with half the money invested end of story.

Actually, bottom line is, I like the 3g Eclipse more than the 2g and the Evo. So I buy what I want, not what's cheap.

lol dont get your pantys in a bunch bro....i speak the truth. And by cheap i ment the parts not the car...in otherwards you can mod the 4g63 with half the money it takes to mod the 6g72 and get twice the power and dont have to worry bout blowin the motor in the process. Your right buy what you want, but dont argue about how much power your 3rd gen eclipse can put down compared an EVO lol your wasting your breath. A GSX or EVO will lay the smack down on a 3rd gen with the same amount in mods invested ALL day long....end of story.

But that's just it, I wasn't trying to compare a 3g with the evo in the first place. When I said cheap, I meant the mods, I actually plan on dumping about 20K into the engine on my car. But not so I can race EVO's and GSX's, I just want to do it cause I can and see how much I can get out of it. If I were to race anyone, it would be another 3G I'm guessing there are a LOT more 2G's and EVO's out there that are pushing ***** to the walls compared to the 3G, and that's why it sounds like fun to me. I wasn't yellin or anything, just saying that I CAN get 600+hp from my engine. Not just according to others who have told me, but by those who deal specifically with this type of engine. $$$ is always an issue, but I want to spend it hehe. And wen ya really think about it, when it's all said and done (building the engine), it's not even the same motor anymore.

You can get 600WHP but after 400 your waisting your time. 1/4 times will not be much imporved awithout slicks and street driving forget it FWD sucks with power behind it. It is not worth your time and $$$ to shot for more than 450hp on that car to be realistic but dyno queens will go as far as possible. I am just trying to tell you that at 400hp the car is never going to be street friendly and it will not be easy to keep the tires under controll on a track either. Belive me I love a fast modded 3G I have had 2 of them and I know what there all about, I have been in the 3G world since day 1 and I am still a active member on the 3G boards all around but a member over there named NAPALM is going to crazy limits for I think the 600hp mark and badrs I think it was a few years back who gave up in the process of bumping thousands and thousands into it and not getting close to where they wanted. NAPALM is now swapping in the EVO VIII head to get rid of the stock single cam.

$20,000 into the 3G motor your still only looking at running in the low 11s maybe into the 10s is my guess
$20,000 into the EVO has got it a 9.41 at 808AWHP that is without testing the new 903AWHP one at a track yet so 8's are around the bend with $20k invested

I think I remember some guy on club3g talking about putting the EVOIII head in his 3g, might be the same guy. I do see where you are coming from though, more power than I can actually use. Even though I never actually want to race the car, I still see why it would be overkill.
