Intercooler and oil...
Hey guys. I took my stock intercooler out today and I noticed oil around the tips of the intercooler. Is this bad? How can i clean all of this out? What should i do?

RE: Intercooler and oil...
i am not totally sure but i think that is a sign that the turbo could be on its way out. Obviously its not running perfect...but i dont no that it necessarily means its going to go

its normal. u notice the thick black tube that runs from your valve cover to the intake snorkel? that blows oil back into the intake, its there for emissions reasons. people sometimes get catch cans or breather filters to fix the problem, but it shouldnt do any damage really. just clean out your ic and intake pipes every 30k miles or so

DSM is right it is normal if you have the hose from the valve cover still connected to the intake. the best way to clean it out is with some gas. pour a lil in the ic then shake it up. After that get a hose and shot it in one side and watch the oil come pouring out. repeat this till just water comes out, then dry it out really well. I used a leaf blower on mine.
My question is what is the best way to cap off the nipple on the intake that the line from the valve cover connected to? I have a injen intake and some duct tape covering the hole. |
