Lifter tick in a DOHC??

Alright well we all know that the 4g63 is prone to lifter tick, my question is how can it get lifter tick? We just learned about lifters, cams, valves etc in auto class. Lifter tick occurs in engines with solid lifters when the rocker arm is not propperly tightened down causing it to tick on the top of the valve stem. Well..... there are no "lifters" in an over head cam motor according to my teacher, which makes perfect sense. So now i am very confused (so is my teacher) as to how an eclipse/talon can get lifter tick. Can some one explain this? Ive enclosed a picture of a "lifter" on the 4g63

So isnt there a way to eliminate it on these cars? I mean, on a regular motor, you just tighten down the rocker arm

change the lash adjuster (lifter)

to bad there isnt just a way to adjust it without replacing the "lifters"

theyre automatic adjusting, if they tap theyre either being starved for oil or they arent working right

Oil commonly. If they are starved from oil and the tick may never go away either. Basically tick and spun bearings are things oil has a good hand on
