Max HP on a 95 GS
I have a 95 GS and was wondering what is the maximum HP I can push out of it without putting in a turbo or NOS. Only engine mods. Cuz I'm wondering if I should fix up this GS or just buy a GSX. I know its smarted to get a GSX but just curious on my GS. Thanks

Some kid on 2g nt.com got a full exaust,1g, intake,150, 60mm tb,200, intake manifold,350, under drive pully,120, plugs, wires, port+polish heads,700, howells cam kit,1100, which includes a **** load of stuff, howells high compression rebuild kit,1300. With all of that he made 196hp to the crank with a few bucks shy for 5g. A stage one turbo kit for 2g, will give you the same results.

Hell no, the averge joe mechanic does an install in 12 hours<hahns estmiate> figure 50 bucks an hour... which is pretty low. The install isant that hard, its a duanting task only on paper. Everything is basic... except for the oil return line... depending on the kit you will mostlikly have to get the bung welded in the pan. Besides that a drunken monkey can do it... its just alot of work.

so ur saying it would be smarter to install yourself?....im a total noob when it comes to working on engines...im not dumb and can read instructions just fine, i know i can get it done but am i better off going to a shop?
and if i do it myself am i going to need any special tools? and is there anything else you need to do to the engine to prep it for the increased hp?

Well to be honest it take some knowlage but its all just unbolting stock stuff off and bolting new stuff on. Chekc how to build a track terror 420a at the top of the eclipse forum and that has a list of things that are reccomeneded upgrades before going boost.
Here are the instructions on how to install the starr stage 2 kit. Like i said, if you can take bolts out of a hole and put them back in your good. Special tools needed are going to be a torque wrench, tig/mig welder, and a 26mm oil press sensor socket. besides that its all just the basic tools. If you going to be using this car as a daily driver and dont make enough money to rebuild the motor then dont do it.
