Default is it me? or does everyone feel the same way?

is it me, or is it harder to find aftermarket parts for a gsx than it is to find parts for a honda?

im having a real hard time trying to find a few things ...
im not trying to rice my vehicle ... just trying to restore it a little.

because my valve cover is leaking, i was trying to find a mirror polished valve cover ... but ebay has like ... one.
and all the other sites look like scams.

i should stop by pep boys and beg those guys ...

Well if your really into cars polish it yourself. Buy a dremel kit get( to make it look really nice ) or get some coarse, medium, and fine steel wool and some polishing compound. There are countless sites that explain how to polish. As for your question yes hondas are cheaper and it has a huge following. So supply and demand, the demand is definitely out there. GS-T's and GSX's are popular but they are rare cars compared to say ahonda coupe or hatchback. Almost every part from every year fits on the damn things with zero to very little modification.

I really dont see a gst/gsx as a rare car, i see those cars everywhere, almost as much as i see honda's. Have you tried searching for a valve cover from a 1g as well because they are the same. Last i knew there was always someone selling them on ebay. But if yours is cracked just get one at a junk yard and paint or polish it yourself like matt said.

True, TE, but unfortunatly Hondas are even LESS rare... kinda like theyellow and orange Starbursts... there always seems to be more of those than the good ones... like red.

lol... good analogy.. but its definitely true. a swap on a honda wouldnt run more than 600 or 700, whereas a swap for a dsm would go up to almost 2 grand. mayb more.

umm ... im kind of special. and that would be something i would really mess up 100%. i mean, if there was a complete guide with pictures as well as instructions with 3rd grade vocabulary, id probably be able to do it ...

are 1g valve covers the same as 2g's?

or its just the lettering thats different? (some say "dohc 2000" and a few say "16 valve" on the lower half...

this is probably because there are about 6000 GSX's comparted to about 5,000,000 honda's in the US lol you can get honda motor's for less than 100 bucks in the right places... the reason they are so cheap to mod is b/c they are so overpopulated.

Yea, Hondas are like rabbits. I think I saw a CRV getting it on with an old Accord on the side of the road today...
