My engine is going to need to be rebuilt and im at 170k miles on it.... I spoke to my local jdm store about putting an evo motor in my car and if it would bolt up to the car and transmission, etc.... and the guy there said that the evo 7 and up wouldnt but the evo 6 and down would.... If I were to rebuild the motor the way I want to it would cost roughly 1k in parts plus someone to rebuild it.... but I can get an evo 6 motor for $1700 from jdm...... does anyone know if it will all bolt up to my tranny and engine bay?? I can do a motor swap with the help of my friend but cant do a rebuild myself...... what do you guys think?

 

i think it is the same motor u already had? the older evoes had the same setuop and power i thought but could be wrong.

 

I believe that they have a higher stock hp... and the internals are almost the same as the newer evos.... if im not mistaken
