Need Advice with Speed

I have a 99 eclipse rs automatic.

Im lookin to spend about $200 as of right now to pep up the eclipse a little bit but i know very little about cars. can anyone help me or give me any advise on what to look for. I just dont have enough acceleration. that is what i am really after. i thought maybe an intake but someone said it wouldnt even help much because i have an automatic. someone else told me to go with a throttle body kit and a fuel pump. any help would be appreciated.

thanks alot

hi there

as far as i know.. i heard the first thing to do to get some horse power is to add an intake... then change to a performance muffler.. i heard from my mechanic that it will be really good if u could change the full exhaust system... if u want to change the full exhaust system u will be spending around 300-400 dollars in ebay for a hks or cat back exhaust system...

id like to see a 10 - 20 hp gain from a RS eclipse with header intake and exhaust I dont mean to bag but you guys have to realise on a naturally aspirated motor opening up flow isnt gona give you astronomical amounts of power, you'll see 8 - 9 HP TOPS and your torque will probaly gain 4 - 6 LBS ft maybe even loose torqueand youwill more then most likely suffer power lose as well! wether if its in the low end or topend, all im saying is that a Naturaly aspirated motor involves alot more tuning then some people think, hey im a Subaru driver, but i also own a Mitsubishi starion, late

Well for $200 you can't get that much but here's a little suggestion get a high performance thermostat. It'll open up more to keep your engine cooler to give you more horses. That you can do with a lil pocket change left. And if you're goin to get an air intake you need to get a K&n typhoon air system that's one of the best.
