i'll just explain it to him... the maf on our mitsu's are before the bov, the maf is what reads the amount of air coming in through the intake, the ecu reads this and will compensate with enough fuel to mix correctly with the air... if you vent ur bov into the atmosphere, it is taking that air that the ecu is counting on and sends it out into the atmosphere, this will obviously screw with ur afr and make your motor run like crap... but to really answer your question the intake you're getting is correct, but you just need to make sure you recirc ur bov into it

by venting the bov into the atmosphere its not going to your intake and then to the maf, your car will then think its getting air that it isnt which is going to cause your car to not run good in the long run, you will also waste way more gas, the noise might sound cool but it hurts the car so bad other cars can vent it because the maf is in a different place so it doesnt matter 2g's have to have it recirculated like i said you can do it but i wouldnt reccomend it i had mine vented for 2 days just to enjoy the noise then thats it if your looking for a nice sound the greddy type s sounds very nice even when it is recirculated thats what i currently have

this brings up another question i was thinkin about... dont mind me if this isa stupit, but is there anyway you could put the stock maf on the uicp? after the bov? or does that have to be a gm maf and maft?

im pretty sure that's what you'd do with a gm maf, but i also hear its a bitch to tune :-/... i guess its about how bad you want that "bov sound"

Yea well i love my bov it sounds great so if i get the intake evrything should be fine? cuz am getting the 16g turbo soon and ill be able to push more boost since you guys say its for high boost or wat not.
But i still got my stock bov if the car starts to mess up or not running good ill take it off and sell it

even with the intake pipe its still gonna not run well i suggest you get the recirculation kit or sell it and get either a greddy type s or rs or even a 1g bov will work nice
