Oil goddamn pump
I have gone through >3< (three) oil pumps in under 25 miles. Im am beyond the deffinition of pissed or infuriated.
Cracked one. Shavings through another. Fried one. Defected one. The new one we put on is reading no oil pressure at idle. What do you think it is. I hope its not any bearings or anything stupid and expensive and a pain in the ass to get ot because it seems like the simplist things on this cars are impossible to get to. Im about to kill if i buy one more oil pump. P.S-still in the middle od the swap |
RE: Oil goddamn pump
Doe the 2g 4g63 ( i assume thats what we're working with since you have an oil pressure gauge) have Oil Sending Units and pressure sensors?
If so, I would check those out. |
RE: Oil goddamn pump
yea i hope your using a good aftermarket gauge to check your pressure.
and i hope to hell your putting some lucas or thick oil of some sortinside the pump before you put it on or it'll trash itself quicker than **** on startup. prime it up with a drill before you put it all together a collapsed oil filter can cause similar symptoms. |
RE: Oil goddamn pump
Are you using OEM mitsubishi pumps? Also buy an aftermarket oil pressure gauge. The stock ones tend to die. Either down in the motor or in the dash board.

RE: Oil goddamn pump
Im buying one from my friend today. I really hope its nothign bad
The swap is a 7 to 6 bolt Engine from a talon to a 2ng gen Eclipse GS-T |
RE: Oil goddamn pump
my stock oil gauge barely moves, i just ignore it and go by the autometer i bought, it cost more to fix the stock setup than to buy a good accurate one.
