Oil leaks in a 420a manual

Have a moderate amount of oil on the transmission side of our 67 RS 420a manual. Pan is dry. What are the typical sites of oil leaks in the eclipse? Any recommended fixes would be appreciated.

if it is leaking from the tranny check your CV seals and Rear-Main seal, but to get to the rearmain, you need to take off tranny, clutch, flywheel, and pressure plate.... my tranny was leaking and the spring in my rear main seal was horrible, it should be very tightly in there...

Thanks All

Being new to the Eclipse, thought there might be specific areas that leak. This is my son's car. I just do most of the mechanicals for him (how is that for adad). Inormally work on the two MG's I own and know thatMG;s leak oil as part of the engine design (not kidding about that. No rear seal in my 1950 TD, just threads on the rear of the crank to"sling" theoil back into the engine)

At this point, I was not planning to pull the engine. it does appear to have a valve cover leak on the driver side. That could very well be where the oil is coming from. Any tips for putting the valve gasket in so it does not leak?

not really, just make sure when you pull the bad one there is none of the gasket stuck to the head or inside the valve cover or you wont get a tight fit..
