Default Oil pressure/ temp gauge

Well yeah guys, I have been trying to break my "baby" in lately just driving around, and I keep noticing that my oil pressure/temp gauge is on L. Never goes up. Just stays there. Is this normal? Before I did the head gasket and timing belt and FMIC, it used to be 3/4's of the way up. This ok?

Check your wire connections to the gauges. the oil sender is down by the drivers side front wheel screwed into the oil filter adapter. one wire isyellow or orangefor the dummy light, the other is green for the oil pressure gauge. the temp gauge wire is a single wire in the thermostat housing, i think that one's green also. The sender for that has a flat spade connector.

Or you oil pressure sender is dead. They are really sensitive. They're not, at all, hard to replace. Just make sure you get a stock replacement, no need for anything fancy.

YES IT'S NECESSARY unless you're psychic and can read your oil pressure without a guage OR you just don't care if the oil pressure dissappears and you lock the engine up. I myself would rather know what's happening under my hood than wait for it to shyt and then fix what broke and anything subsequntly that broke.

Did you check the wire to see that it was on there tight?

So, the connection may have gotten bumped and moved to where there was a connection again, or something inside the sender was bumped. Both will cause the same issue again later so keep an eye out on it and don't freak out. Make sure to check your oil level though, just to be sure.
