My vote is the oil cooler also. It would be a plumbing nightmare for a smic on each side with one turbo.

I have seen 2 SMICs in the way that one of the end tanks is removed and they are welded and used as a FMIC. LOL. I have also seen a single one... just one with the end tank moved and reshaped so it can be a FMIC lol... looked retarded

Ya I think RRE sold that. it was big for the 3G gues who made there own turbo kit. but that isnot the case here. I really think it was an oil cooler cause they look the same.

other than that the 3000gt and 300ax use 2 side mounts but they have to turbos to cool charge from so that is pretty easy to figure out

maybe one was an oil cooler that you can only see when the block plate is removed from the bumper

as long as you know how to fabricate bends and piping... it wouldn't be that hard... there is a VERY nice 240 runnin around here with a silvia conversion that is running 2 SMIC's, he is running a decent sized turbo with a very quite bov... the whole point is for him to be a sleeper, you would never know he's pushin over 475hp if he came up to you in your rearview. although i do agree that it would be more trouble than it's worth, just a fun concept for a sleeper, but for the time spent on it... i'd proly just got with a liquid-to-air IC...
