Default prevent crankwalk???

Hey just wondering if there is a way to prevent crankwalk on 2g eclipse? I know that most people just swap to 1g eclipse motor. Ilove my car, but crankwalking is worrying me to death. Dont know when its gonna happen. Is there any advice you guys can give me?

there is no way to prevent it, only take precuationary measures. One thing i would do is remove the clutch start switch. Go to the FAQ's for that

no way to completely prevent it except to swap to the 6 bolt. there are ways of prolonging it by swapping cranks, new rod bearings and main bearings but like i said, thats only a bandaid.

Yea, like a bandaid over a shotgun wound.... crankwalk is unfortunate.. but unavoidable... how many miles are on the motor? If its already up there... you may have lucked out... I dont think Ive heard of too many 4G63ts walking after like 90K

I already remove my clutch switch a while back. My car got 152k, but the motor have only 60k. What are some of the signs of crankwalk?

actually dusty ive heard of many around the 130k range too. The main signs are clutch sticking during left hand turns. Oil light coming on or flashing during idle at first startup, or just measuring bearing clearance from the crank

crankwalk only happens in the 92.5-99 eclipses.... the turbo models which are the gs-t and gsx's. from 89 - 92.5 they came with what's called a "6 bolt 4g63 turbo" but after 92.5 they replaced it with the "7 bolt 4g63t". not sure why. but the 7 bolts are what crankwalk. it can happen any time.
