Projector headlights - fuse blowing
I have these headlights on my 95 gst. After my accident they fell out and I had to reinstall them. Thing is, there are two wires, a red and a black that are unconnected. Is one a ground? All I know is after I installed them, I blew the headlamp fuse.
Thx |
RE: Projector headlights - fuse blowing
usually with wiring the red is hot and the black is ground.

yea man i had those same headlights, the red is power and the black is ground, those wires are for the little halo's around the low beams

Thx guys, is that a general rule of thumb (red power/blk ground?)
So where do I connect the red wire? Anyone know how I can get an install manual? I dont remember, but I never had the red wire connected to anything. Lol I just grounded the black I think. |
RE: Projector headlights - fuse blowing
well they say to splice them into your parking lights, but i just made my own seperate switch for them so i could turn on just my halo's whenever i wanted

RE: Projector headlights - fuse blowing
Ok, well splicing sounds more my speed. Switches more your speed. I'll catch up soon.
Thx. |

haha the switch is crazy easy, just buy one from auto zone, mount it whereever you want in ur car (i drilled a hole and mounted 'em right under my cd player on the center console) and wire it up, real easy and looks kinda cool. every girl that got in my car was like "IS THAT NOS?!?!" and i was like "yup, wanna have sex??" haha worked every time;)

RE: Projector headlights - fuse blowing
lol i have a red switch in my car too that was for a dual stage boost controller and everyone thinks its nos also. i laugh everytime i get on the freeway and right as the turbo is about to kick in it flip it and they just love it lol even though it doesnt do anything any more

RE: Projector headlights - fuse blowing
LOL!! ditto here... i have it for the amp on my car =) unfortunately when they find out what it is.. the do not stop playing with it...
EDIT> i think you can hook that red wire to your corners... so that the halo goes on with the corners |
RE: Projector headlights - fuse blowing
Hahaha, ok I'm sold. I'll buy a nice switch, maybe one in red and set it up. Lol I have tons of space on my dash.
I gotta try this. Lol |
