rear caliper upgrade
 

Hey guys, I have a 95 Eclipse GSX and I just found out that my car has different rotors and pads than regular 2g eclipses in the rear. They are actually bigger than later years. I called mitsubishi and they said that it was an early production of the eclipse from oct of 94 to dec of 94. So, if you can get your hands on the calipers and brackets for that period, they will be an oem upgrade. Take care and have a good night

That is true. The fronts are bigger also, from 10.1 (96 and later) or .5 to 11.1 (92-94 1Gs and early 95) inches in diameter. I thought this was common knowledge though...I'm not flaming either.

Now if you really want bigger than DSM brakes, go with another Mitsu car like the 3kgt/Stealth TT VR4

haha I know a **** load about my car, but I just never heard that... The thing is, its not the difference between 1g and 2g brakes. There is a period when they were just completely different. I'll take some pics to show you the difference. The only reason I found out was because I ordered drilled and slotted rotors and performance pads and the rears were completely different. Since I work at autozone, I checked our stock and they weren't the ones that i needed, and I even checked the earlier years.. Like I said there was just an early production for a 3 month period when the brakes weren't 1g or 2g. I'll definately check out the vfaq on the brakes as well.

I just checked that vfaq, it said that all AWD cars got the brake upgrade... so it would be just like swapping the same thing from another car onto mine
