Default Reasonable Priced Tires & Wheel Cleaner

[sm=smiley25.gif]
I own a 2001 Eclispe GT, need to get new tires for this daily driver.

I'm looking for feedback from someone who's had experience with the following tires - I've got it narrowed down to these two.

Yokohama AVID V4's (leaning towards this tire)
BF Goodrich Traction T/A ($136 total cost per tire installed at Costo)

Lastly - what's the best/harshest chemical out there to clean-up my rims - (6 SLOT), MACHINED FINISH, original rims?

not sure about the tires but to clean your rims use a power washer......dont set it wicked high obviously start low and work your way up in pressure....i did that to my stock rims and they look brand new.

one set of tires that are a good every day tire and a preformance tire are dunlop gt qualifier. also for the rims i would wash them than use some eagle one or mothers polish. it will do miracles for your rims.

I use Eagle One, some garden hose pressure, a rag, and anywhere from 15-30 mins of elbow grease, and they come out lookin nice. I usually wash my car once a week by hand during the summer, it needs to warm up soon, lol. I hate a dirty car.

If you're looking for all seasons for a daily driver go with the assurance triple treads (not the comfort treads). I have a set of them on mine and I love them, they've gotten me though some crazy snow, rain, slush, and whatever else NH has thrown at me over the winter. Plus the treadlife rating on them is about double most other tires.

Thanks for the feedback guys. The Assurance Trile Tread is nice but, I didn't see my size on the Tirerack, 215/50R17 - standard size rim. I'm gonna go with the BF Goodrich at $136/per tire installed, deal. As for the tires - I like the pressure washer idea. [sm=icon_cheers.gif]

215/50 17's are an unpopular size and your choices are limited, but you can also go with 215/45 17's, your speedometer will say you are going 4-5mph than you really are (will help you not to speed but they are much cheaper and look nicer with the lower profile. i have tried a lot of tires and my fav's were the toyo proxes 4 and they were only $90 a tire at express tire
