Crankwalk really isn't all that common. As long as you change the oil and dont abuse the **** out of it, it will take care of you.
I could see you did a lot of searching, you had good questions, thats why I didn't give you any **** : ) So good for you.
On the order of 250-300 is really easy to achieve.I would stick with the 7 bolt for now, ifit decides to go out on you, then replace it. But there is no sence replacing something that works perfectly fine. These motors can handle over 400 at the wheels (about 500 at the crank) on the stock internals, so250-300 really isn't a stressor. In fact, you could do that on the stock turbo (unless you are talking wheel horsepower?). Either way, you could easily do that with little money, and have yourself an awesome car. The trick is, to find one that hasn't had the ever loving **** beaten out of it.
