Default screw eclipses!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So I went to the track this past weekend and I ran a damn 17.8!!! what's up with that? It wouldn't have been so bad if a damn automatic Integra LS with only an intake and a muffler hadn't beaten me. Mines an intake too but still. I have an intake and a full exhaust and it's a 2.4L and the LS is a 1.8L....anyway Mitsubishi sucks for the size engine they are. Damn 1.8L's beating 2.4L's with less mods...how gay. lol Sorry but Im buying a new car. Going with a hatchback civic with a b18 swap.

lol that civic is 1/3 lighter than your car, plus the n/a 4g63 puts out only 10 more hp then the 420a... makes you wonder if the extra weight for the displacment is actually worth it.

Ouch that pretty harsh to say that mitsu suck, lol lost to an integra maybe something wrong with your eclipse but am no expert in eclipses but since u said that you have a 2.4L am guessing its an GS Spyder correct me if am wrong about that. But when you bought the car did u want it for racing dont you want a good power to weight ratio ? I belive that if it is convertible you have more weight right you gotta carry around extra pounds of automatic convertible ? also eclipses are alot more comftable than any honda or acura (maybe not accord or Tsx)espically an integra feels like your ridin in a roller coaster or massage chair with out the good feelings.[:@]

there are a ton of variables for the lousy track times. Saying it sucks you lost just because your engine is bigger is sad. If you went out an bought a honda just because you cant drive a mitsu well, I can almost guarantee your track times wil be even worse with a honda

Like dsmtalonawd said its the driver...

your eclipse is making MAYBE 110-115whp...what did you expect? you do not have a fast car, so don't expect it to be fast unless you do something about it.

I know all of that. But his car doesn't have anything on it and they both come with the same hp stock and both were auto's. It's not that damn hard to drive an auto down the track dude. You stomp the gas lol. He got a 17.4 and I got a 17.8...by the way, why would my track time be worse i I went out and bought a Honda? I know guys with SOHC 1.6L's with just an intake. header, and exhaust hitting mid to low 16's without any problems. How about when I get a Honda, you can come down here and I'll race you after it's built.

Ill race your gay *** honda with my EVO and Smoke your ***. in a straight line or on corners. The fact of the matter is a Integra weights what 2500Lbs or something and a eclipse coupe weights over 3k and forget about a spyder those are just fat pigs. power to weight ratio thats where you lose. Ever notice a 425WHP supra runs similar times to a 350WHP RX7? the RX7 wieghts 2800LBS and the Supra Weights 3400LBS

exactly....its not always how much power you have. i could have a 500whp car, but if it weighted 6000lbs, my 1/4 time would suck.

remember this equation.... for every 100lbs more/less, there will be a change of about .1(one tenth) of a second in the 1/4 time. so he weights about 500 lbs less than you, and he beat you by .4 seconds. sounds about right to me.

btw wat kind of eclipse do u have newayz, in an early reply sum1 said it was a GS Spyder...if so, then thats basically ur problem, Spyders are heavy...end of story!!!
