What kind of shifting problems? There are quite a few different ones that can be had... Popping out of gear, got going into gear, not coming out of gear, and I'm sure there are other problems. What are you having trouble with?

This isnt really a problem, but when I am backing out of the garage and put the car in reverse it doesnt go into gear the first time, not always but sometimes.

If you have a manual you have to put it in 1st gear before you put it in reverse

Sometimes my sentra does the same thing. I have to take it out of reverse, let off the clutch all the way, hit the clutch again and then go into reverse. I dunno why nor do I know why it only does it sometimes.

its like some sort of a saftey lock I think that is why you need to put it in 1st then rev. I always put it in first before I hit REV and I never have had trouble

I never put it in first and it only happens once in a while with mine... It might be a safety interlock of some sort but that's just kinda odd...
