Default Thoughts of eclipse gs-t

I just want peoples opinion of this car obviously 2nd gen 95-99. and just gs-t not the spyder model. Such as is it reliable as daily. I do plan on buying one but would like to know as much as i can about it from people who actually owned one. I do plan to do some minor upgrades. Any info will help.

DSM vehicles aren't known for reliability, if you have to get one id suggest 98-99 I believe that's when the 7 bolt blocks got the revised thrust bearings or get one that has a 6 bolt block swapped into it.

And whats a 7 bolt block or 6?? what does that do?

Plenty of threads discuss the 7 bolt and 6 bolt block plus it all over Google, in short, 7 bolt 4g63 eclipse motors have a bad reputation for crank walking (some people never have this problem while others claim it to be an epidemic) but 6 bolt blocks seem to be immune to this problem.

so then obviously the 6 block is better then the 7. Would suck to get this car if I have to spend more time fixing it then actually driving it. But I'll look into the '98-'99, 95's r already to old and probably have alot of miles buying them used

I would say personally stay away from 97', I have spent more time under my gst then in it.

BUT, to be honest I have enjoyed every minute of it.

i own a 97 gst and i have only have minor problems with it ... i love my car

is it easy to work on?? If something does happen. kuz im sure taking it to a mechanic would cost alot... also does any one know of any places within the Florida state that carry alot of eclipse's.. I know we have a place for only 240's in Broward. Havent seen many on graigslist.

These cars are cluster ****s unless insane money has been spent on them.
