Tial BOV or Wastegate??

I'm looking to get a Tial Blow off valve. I was wondering whats the difference between a BOV and a Wastegate. Will I need a new upper IC pipe for the new BOV and how will i know which size??

BOV releases the pressure (boost) in the intake pipes. The wastegate releases pressure in the turbo itself.

You shouldn't have to get a new upper IC pipe and BOV don't come in sizes really.

They do different things. You're comparing apples and constipated rhinos here.

The wastegate releases excess boost so you don't blow your engine. The BOV prevents turbulence/backflow when your TB closes so you don't wreck your turbine. If you really want to spend some cash, go get yourself a SAFC or turbo timer. More fun with the blinky lights.

u dont buy a wastegate unles you get a big turbo, by then you wil know what it is. You can get a better bov because the stock one will leak and prevent you from raising the boost. When you get a new bov get an upper ic pipe too because thet stock one is very restrictive.

You should actually be safe around 13-15lbs. Any and all brands of upper IC pipes are good because they are all less restrictive than stock.
