Default ticking

another problem.... Theres ticking in the front of my engine somewhere. Its not in the head with the lifters, its not one of the pulleys. It sounds like its coming from the turbo/exhaust manifold. Could it be possible that I have a crack? I don't think its in the block. I have no loss of power and it doesn't get worse with rpms. Let me know what you guys think.

its a 7 bolt. Its not crankwalk. The clutch works perfectly now that its broken in. Plus, the noise is from the front of the engine, not the pulley side. So its not the trigger plate hitting the crank angle sensor. It might be a crack in the manifold. I've had it for a couple of years and i have a evo style hood. (terrible idea given my geographical location with rain and snow). So water or snow dripping on it could have cracked it. I'll check it in more detail this weekend and let you guys know. Thanks for the help guys

Ya but usually like TE pointed out, it would get louder with the higher rpm that you have, b/c it would be pushing more air out of that crack, making that tick more apparent..

Is the ticking really loud? or kind of low?

I can only hear it when i'm idling. Its a pretty pronounced tick. Almost like a loud clock. My car idles around 2000rpms but when I drive I don't hear the noise any longer. I've only really noticed it at start up because i'm in the engine bay jumping my bad battery. Like i said I'll try and check it this weekend and let you guys know what I find. Thanks again
