I am new to eclipse's and new to this forum so if this is a commonly asked question I appologize. I've purchased an eclipse gst with relativly high mileage and was just wondering when the timing belt should be replaced? It has about 120,000 miles on it so I figure that if it hasn't been done yet it will need to be done soon. I don't think the car has been driven hard in the past but you just never know. Thanks, chris.

the timing belt times the intake and exhaust valves. if your timing belt gets old and breaks, then your valves will smash against your pistons. this is bad. you'll definately need new valves and probably the easiest way to get your car running again would be to get a new head. so ya, i'd change it
