Default turbo???
when i go to start the car it makes a spinning cracking sound.

i got it. it is the turbo. its got play in the shaft and oil in the pipes.....

you can rebuild a turbo yes. but the stock eclipse turbos are worthless POS. and it is relitivly inexpensive to upgrade to a 16G of some sort and make more power and have more potencial

Take the intake off, and check for chips.

My moms GST made the same sound..... but it went away.
