Hi, Im new on these forums but this looks like a cool place so I'll try you guys out. Ever since I was 12 I have loved cars. Everything about them. I am 16 now and Have my permit and I am very close to getting my license which in all in all makes me much more into cars. I could never really do much car wise when I was 12 ya know but now I am totally ready.

My Favorite car I have ever seen is a 1998 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX. The Body is amazing. The front head lights, the REAR TAIL LIGHTS OH MY GOD, just everything about it, I LOVE that car. As ridiculous as it is, the movie the fast and the furious got me into that car. I didnt like any other car in that movie except that one. I am in love with that car. So My goal is to obtain that car. I am getting 500-600 bucks for my b-day in one week. Then I can sell my 2 guitars and amp for about 750. Then HOPEFULLY I can get a job. I will apply EVERYWHERE for a job. Then If i can get a job i will make about 500 a month minimum. So I looked in the autotrader and The typical Mitsubishi Eclipse 98' is 6,000 bux. So its going to take a while and I am afraid I wont have the patience to save that long But im gonna try as hard as i can. The dream just looks so far out of reach to me. Anyways, I calculated the exact parts and prices I want to put into it and it equals 10,000 dollars of parts. heres the list.

So yea guys, Just Wanted to let you know I am a huge fan of mitsubishis too, and that is my dream car^. My DREAM car believe it or not the WHOLE thing is only like 15,000 bux. Thats alot but its not impossible. Also I need some reccomendations for suspension kits. Do they make a suspension kit for the Eclipse 98? or do you have to buy each suspension part seperatly. Im not to educated in suspension I just want to lower it. What about brake rotors? Any ideas? So just let me know your opinion on brake rotors, Suspension, my list i made ^ and any other ideas or support is welcome. Thank you.

Define Ricey? I mean, Its from Japan, so no matter what there all basically rice burners. Its just seperating the Civic Rice vs the Eclipse Rice i mean come on your talkin down town LA jap rice shop vs panda express. lol.

 

Are you planning on getting a gsx? If you are you will be lucky to find one for 6g. The average 98 eclipse is a 420a... which is far from a gsx. Also if you do get a 420a you will be spending more money in mods(that dont make the car fast) then you did on the car. From what I can tell alot of the things you listed on that list isnt going to benifit you if you do get a 420a(like the "turbo gauge"). Then again if you decide to get a gsx, which would be more like 8g(for one in decent condition) that mod list of your blows. The 2g manifold flows pleanty good and dosent need to be replaced with a hedder. I recomend that you take some time reading the stickys on this forum and do some research before you spend a dime becuase your only seeing the tree not the whole forest. When you get a car their are going to be things that are going to need matinance thats going to cost near to 500 bucks. Timming belt, plugs, wires, fuel filte, tires, the list goes on. Not to mention the cost of gas and insurance.

come on man, take all that **** your putting into visual upgrades into perfomance, dont be a ricer. and not all imports are ricey, just the ones that people make into burners.

 

I could make one seriously fast car with less than 7k... what a waste
