i think you are talking about the difference between the 6bolt 4G63t engine and the 7bolt 4G63t engine. the 7bolt which comes in the 2G turbo'ed eclipses, is known for having crankwalk. most people swap in the 6-bolt because it doesn't have the problem with crankwalk.

PS....people make crankwalk alot bigger than it really is. only about 3% of 2G turbo'ed eclipses have this problem.

the bolts come from the number of bolts on the flywheel.

its not as easy as it sounds... Ive had 2 2nd Gen eclipses and neither of them had crankwalk... Its kind of a hit or miss... You can tell if you have crankwalk by listening and you can hear it towards the bottom part of the motor.. If it doesnt click then you don't have to worry about it.

umm...no. the flywheels have nothing to do with crankwalk. its just a way to determine what engine you have.

search on this site or www.google.com if you want to know what crankwalk is and how to fix it.

Personally I get the crank all riled up by rough housing and it almost always wants to walk.

j/k it all depends on how the car has been matained, how its been abused... ect. Some 7 bolts wont walk, other will.

For a 6 bolt swap you need to get a block out of a 92 eclipse or older and replace it with your. This becomes complicated becuase you need to do some rewiring because the 7 bolt block dosent have the same sensors as the 6 bolt block.

there is no certain limit. it could happen to a stock car, or a heavily modded car. its just a design flaw. but chances are, you won't have that problem.

PS...it only happens with 5spds. so if you have an auto, you don't have anything to worry about.
