Yeah I know about those two websites, thanks though for trying to help. I just wanted to see if I could find something cheap. If I were to get a 1st gen engine instead of 2nd gen, wud I have to completely buy replacement parts for EVERYTHING under the hood??

I dont understand why anyone would ever wanst to spend money and replace a perfectly good engine.
There are a million and one things you could spend the money on. You could buy a MBC, Exhaust, Intake. The engine is just pointless.
From my experiance with stuff like that, things typically cost double what you anticipate. The engine alone is going to be 700+ (700 will buy you a crap engine) and to install and set it up is going to be that again......... just think about it`

Why buy a car with alot of miles when you could buy a car with low miles and advoid a motor swap? I know you said none have low miles in your area but look around. It beats buying a car and then putting money into it right away and swapping a motor.

yea your motor is good for like 75,000 more miles. just mod the heck out of your motor you have now and later down the road do a 6-bolt swap. thats what im planning on doing.

Antlip, its the price, and the rarity index. Its hard and costly to find low mileage DSMs. Especially of the 4g63 variety. While he may not have $8k to throw down on a DSM right now, he will almost certainly have $1500 to replace the motor in the coming months.
