White smoke just started
So, i just bought the car like a week ago and now it just started smoking out the tailpipe...It never did this when i bought it and the oil doesn't have bubbles in it...
The car is stock except for a Thermal research and development full exhaust. (95 Eclipse GST) The only reason why i noticed it was smoking, is because it has a turbo timer on it. When i walked away from my car, i could see a little white smoke coming out. Then, i noticed the tailpipe has a little liquid in it...So, maybe this is oil? Who knows...It isn't smoking bad, but you can notice it. Not much smoke comes out in the morning, but usually if the car has been running for a while...The weather is also a little cooler, so maybe this has something to do with it? Honestly, it's not that bad right now and I'm just thinking about selling it... |
RE: White smoke just started
sounds like one of two things. Either its the headgasket going, or the car is just running alittle rich

RE: White smoke just started
Is your car using coolant?

RE: White smoke just started
Hmm...So, i met up with this girl last night and she lived about 20mins away. I drove back this morning (It was a good night) and when i got home i looked at the exhaust. While the car was idling their was no smoke at all...The tailpipe wasn't even wet like i mentioned it had been...How can it smoke one day, but not the next? Maybe it's the weather?
Also, when it's been smoking, it would disappear and the smoke would go no higher than the hatch. It's a thin smoke, not thick. |
RE: White smoke just started
it was probably just running a bit rich when the engine hadnt warmed yet or something
