the wonderful reliability of an eclipse
So few months ago put about 3 grand into my gst, evo 16g turbo, act clutch, intercooler, had the head rebuilt and all that good stuff, 2000 miles later my car sounds like a damn soda can full of rocks. my cars knock almost sounds like a diesel but not as good lol im thinking bent valve maybe, i did have a overheating problem recently, where the coolant was just leaking or escaping somwhere, so im trying to figure out if im looking at a head or maybe just a few valves. opinions?

RE: the wonderful reliability of an eclipse
its kind of a tick but at times more seems like more than a tick, at times it almost seemed like it was keeping my turbo from spooling up and choking my car.
MODS: Evo III 16g, 5zeigen exhaust, cold air intake, greddy type-s bov, composite headgasket, act 6 puck racing clutch, machined and rebuilt head, turbosmartmbc (i hsve it set at about 15psi), all but exhaust and cold air were put in 2000 miles ago.

Here's what I see:
- E316G, aftermarket HG, aftermarket clutch, and rebuilt head.
The rest are support, but you don't have fuel components listed, which leads me to believe you had detonation by going lean in a chamber or more. You need to do a compression check.
Your mods make me think the worst since there's no logging or management mentioned. A ping is one thing, clanking is something else.
What was the last thing you did before this happened. My thoughts are that your motor went past 5k with a load on it.
Even 15psi from an E316G at WOT is nothing to scoff at.

fuel was stock but i never had any problems with it leaning out it ran solid, i run it hard but the other day i got in it it was a clicking at about 3grand in first thats all i kept an eye on it took it straight home, next day took it around the block and its clanking.
