Default Is this worth it?

I have a 99 eclipse GS with 114k miles on it (i put 11k myself). Is it worth putting in $500 set of shocks and lowering springs? So far the car has been reliable. But I don't know how reliable these cars are. I take good care of it.

Updated: What do you guys think of this cheap combo from Dropzone? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...link:middle:us

I dont see why not, does the car need a lot of work or what? Also do you plan on keeping the car for a while?

I got the car in perfect condition (as perfect for a car with 100k can be). Engine runs perfect. Haven't heard any strange clinks or clanks. Worse problem so far is a minor engine oil leak. Other than that, I love the car. I do intend to keep it for a while, but since it is pushing 115k, I'm not sure if the investment is worth while. I don't want to invest in it...and have it break down in a few years.

Well if everything else on the car is sound, then go for it. $500.00 isn't a bad price for lowering springs and struts.

For springs I guess megans would be cheap and maybe kyb gr-2's if your on a budget. I personally like the kyb agx's but they can be expensive.

They're are many many different combos, try searching and check out reviews.

What do you think of this DropZone Shock/strut/coilover combo for about $260 shipped?
I understand I will get what I pay for. And this is cheap for obvious reasons. But it is a legitimate brand at least not a chinese knockoff (as far as I know). Will these suffice? I'm not looking to race or anything. Just want to lower my car and have some decent shocks.

I wouldn't suggest it.

100K isn't that much, will make 200k if taken care of by previous owners and you, that means all fluids flushed(except engine oil and manual trans) and changed, fuel system cleaners, Tbelt etc.

I have a GS. A friend of mine suggests that I only need lowering springs for it, and that I can use the stock shocks and struts. Any words on that?
