01 GS that just shuts off when it wants...
 

My wife has a 2001 Eclipse GS 5 speed, and I just replaced the spark plugs after we found out that #2 was misfiring, causing the car to stall out in low gears at low speeds. That was about 3 months ago, and now the car does almost the same thing, except there is no "skipping" of the motor misfiring. Any ideas??

that and mass air flow senor. brother car stopped whenever just like this and it was the MAFS. mybe not gettin enough air or the fuel lines. it could be both

when ur car comes to a stop like at a ligght or a sign, is that when it stalls?

Well, as far as the spark plugs go, we took the car to her uncles repair shop, and when he ran the check engine code, is when it came with the #2 misfire. he suggested the plugs and coils, but we started with the plugs for $$ sake. It responds with pedal input without hesitation, and its when the car comes to a stop is when it stalls. I havent felt the hesitation in the motor now like when it was misfiring, though. The car itself has almost 70K on it, so it could be alot of things...

Maybe a coil or a spark plug wire?

When this happened to my dads car, it kept saying misfire on 6, and we changed plugs and wires and nothing. So we changed the coil pack and it was fixed.

Coils were my next step, just wanted to see what some others had to say. I would rather hear some possible fixes from others that paying some guy to give me a guess... Thanks for all the help. If the coils don't work, I'll be back...
