I have an 02' Eclipse spyder GS auto, it's all stock and I haven't been able to find out anywhere how fast they can go and if they cut off at a certain speed. I get nervous when I go fast, but last night I took it up to 105 and thats when it hit fourth gear, and I thought I was in fourth haha, but I got scared and slowed down. I'd like to put at least an intake and headers on it soon. And no replys saying I should get a GT or stick. I like being the underdog.

 

Itll do about 105-110 stock....

 

actually i think you should be able to do better than that. More like 120-125. It will take a bit but it can do it. I just dont see the point, unless your on a closed course its stupid.

 

I hit 127 in my old GS. Looking back it was a stupid idea. Plus in the time it took my Evo would be close to 170 lol. It took a least a week to get to that speed

 

Hmph, I never woulda thought a 4g64 powered heavy *** 3G Spyder could pull that off, lol.

 

I just though you should know. 2G Eclipse = 2,8-- pounds, 3G Eclipse = 3,0-- sooo.... where's the big difference you're talking about? 200 pounds isn't much of a difference at all...

 

Well I figured it could go a more than 105 since it hit fourth gear right there. I always go the speed limit though. I'm more concerned on acceleration than top speed. I just wonder how much faster it would be with an injen intake and headers. I'll admit I just wanted an eclipse so this was the first one i found in a long time so i jumped at in, but it woulda been nice to have a GT, but I doubt I could find a place to trade in that has one.

 

lol, Wingo, I NEVER said that the 2G was light... None of em are. Though, 200lbs sometimes... CAN make the difference.

In which case I wonder what my 3g GT is capable of... hmmm
