2000 Clock Display pleez help

I am having trouble with my display, it went out a few weeks ago, so i proceeded to buy a used display, is there any reason why i shouldnt be able to just plug in the new one? It doesnt seem to work, any other ideas? The radio was working without the display, but now since the r-tards at my car shop dissconnected it looking at my clock, i hav no music nor time.

Thanks, Wayne... That was helpful.
I would check into fuses first. Have you owned this car since new?

It wont be. It never is. I believe the one your looking for will be under the hood. Is it a V6? (GT/GTS) If so , itll be the L shaped box to the right there... The fuse listing will be on the inside of the cover.

well i found out the problem... if u have a V6 with the display out. If you look in your manuel you won't find any fuses labeled clock or display, look for your cigarette lighter fuse, for some reason my display was tied into that fuse which was in fact blown.

Ah. I just joined this forum. The same thing happened with mine. I bought my Eclipse about 6 weeks ago. The dealership said the clock wouldn't work because it had an aftermarket radio in it. I checked the fuse box when you open the driver side door. I also noticed the cigarette lighter, and the button to move the side mirrors didn't work. I changed that one fuse and they all work now =)

Yeah, the dealership is run by a bunch of Re-Re's as I call them, They're just about useless. It's been like 8 business days and I'm still waiting for them to call me when my wheel speed sensor comes in.... They told me it should be in in three days and here I am at day 8....

That problemis very common in the V6 some sort of short in the Cig lighter. if you need to charge your phone or something use the outlet in the arm rest it is under a diffrent fuse
