2001 gt wheel hop/ 1/8 mile
Dropping the clutch at 2400 up to 3200 rpm only results in excessive wheel hop, the best times a got was 10.140 and 10.234 in the 1/8 of a mile at 70.5 mph. The car is all stock and the temperature was @ 80 degrees, do other v-6 gt have this problem and what do you recommend launching these car at, are there other techniques such as a high rpm clutch drop or am I better off letting it bog down riding the clutch?

Get prohane motor mounts or something similar. They're great, and they'll cost you around $50. But you can buy an entire kit to replace all your bushings and the improvement in handling is great. Plus they last MUCH longer than your stock bushings. The first suspension modification I recommend if you pland on doing it right.

thats a terrible 1/8 mile time, but why dont you post your 60' time, that will explain whether of not your launch is to blame. try to get around 2.2 sec 60' times, and lower your tire pressure down to around 20 psi, that should help.

The best 60 foot time I recorded was 2.411, It was really bouncing hard off the line and I may have backed off a little before my shift to 2nd. I will lower my tire pressure before my next run, If the problem is still there I will go ahead with the motor mounts.
