Default Eclipse 4g64 oil light

Just purchased a 2002 Eclipse 4g64, 5-spd manual. The oil light comes on at idle but quickly shuts off when throttle is hit just a bit. Is there an easy way to verify the oil pressure or should I just replace the oil sending unit? Also, where is the sending unit on these engines?

Of course, that was the first thing I checked I even overfilled by 1/2 a quart just to make sure with the same result. Oil light at idle, instantly goes away when I touch the throttle

Ookie doke, changed the oil, filter and pressure switch. Turns out the valve cover was leaking all over the back of the engine and some oil got on the switch so that will be replaced next and all is good.
