low beams really dim

Hey guys I'm new here and I have a problem with my 01 Eclipse. My low beams are super dim even with new bulbs. Hi beams seem normal. Have you guys ever seen this problem? I would appreciate any ideas.

Get a ground kit. Basically its a thing that connects to the negative battery terminal and connects to multiple ground kits.

Mine used to do the same thing i replaced the harness for like two dollars and they are fine now. The old harnesses are usually melted for some reason.

I have a similar problem. Are you talking about the wiring harness to the light itself? Or is this the neg terminal on the battery running into the main electrical unit on the engine.

I assume the light itself but it seems to be a pain to get off? Is there a diagram somewhere? Where do you get the harness??

Thanks in advance

Perhaps I am slightly retrarded! I got them off with a little more effort and thought.

One harness is melted with one terminal on the light itsefl is corroded. Are the hardnesses only available from the dealer? I assume you just splice into the old wires.

Thanks for helping this retarded newbie!

The only other place you could find the harness is on another car.

Thanks Sebba. What about the ground kit you referred to. Is this somethings different?

Another thought would be to get some newer lights. Would that solve the issue?

Yeah thats something different.

I dont htink new lights will actually make a difference. Not all of the current is making it to the ligts and you need to find out why. Change the harness and see what that does.

Good news. One of the termnials on the light itself didnt look to great. It had some corrosion. So I got out my polishing bit on my Dremmel and cleaned each terminal. That worked to perfection!

Both lights are little brighter now and things look great. Now the glaring spot is the external housing/casing on the light. It has weathered over time. Outside of replacing those, is there somemthing to make them look a little better??
