Default Need help!!

Hi. I just did my timing belt on my 2000 eclipse gt. However I got the timing off by 1-2 teeth. I got check engine light with camshafts A and B sensor malfunctioning. Anyways I readjusted my timing belt (might be correct or incorrect) and still performance is bad. The idling is rough at times. Engine is also tending to stop when the car comes halts at a stop sign. Also I am getting very bad fuel economy like 10mpg or less.

I feel like my timing of cams is still off and some how there is carbon build up in the throttle body and air intake. However I am not sure.

Can somebody tell a way to get the timing absolutely correct? Any other theories as what is wrong?

how did you decide to time the cams/crank. Did you have a manual. I would highly advise that you use one in order to do this. Getting the timing marks absolutely perfect is essential. Did you remove anything else from the car while doing this? Is there a chance you forgot to plug something back in?

ya... i got the manual... the conflicting goals were that the cam gears we not perfectly aligned (maybe 1 teeth off) but the number of teeth between the marks of the cam gears are same as the previous timing belt (59 teeth) ... so I got confused... Anyways I gave it to a mechanics to time it and he charge me $350 ... but now the car seems to be running fine...
