Question about replacing factory stero

I want to replace the factory stero in my 2004 ecplise gts. This is the infinity sound system. I want to put in a Pioneer AVIC-F90B in dash gps system. I was wondering if there was a way to hook up the steering wheel controls for the volume and changing channels. I am able now to do everything from my steering wheel controls for the radio system. This is the only thing holding me back from putting this Pioneer unit in. Any help or advice would be great.

RE: Question about replacing factory stero

i also have a 2004 gts and was very dissatisfied with the factory radio esp when the top was down.. it was very poor quality so i had a Eclipse CD3200 deck installed, has all the features i wanted, even blue tooth and ipod, sounds absolutely great with plenty of volume.. i lost my steering controls but the new deck has a remote and it works great so i am not missing my steering controls. just had to forget about the steering controls and move on to the quality i wanted.. there are kits to adapt some radios to steering controls, check on Crutchfield, they have tons of stuff...even have people to answer questions... good luck and enjoy

RE: Question about replacing factory stero

I have a 2005 GT, I installed a Pioneer 5200 something or another into mine. I had it done professionally. I lost the controls to my steering wheel and clock when I did this. There is however a wiring harness that I was told costs $89 to install, that would bring back the functionality of the steering wheel controls, and the clock. I just never sprung for it because I could us the $89 elsewhere.

Hope this helps.
