Turbo on my 2004 GTS
 

Hello All,

I was thinking about buying a turbo kit for my 2004 GTS 6 cylinder automatic. I was wondering if there was any sites that have a complete kit that I can purchase for my car. I'm not good with doing motor work or anything like that so I would have to take it to a shop to have it put on. How much do you think it will cost to have them put the kit on to my car? I'm not looking for the best turbo kit but just something basic. Any Help would be great. Thank you

I would suggest supercharging it. Turbos dont play well with the 6g72. For further proof look at the 3000gt lol.

Now that was a dumb statement, considering people make over 1000hp on the 6G72 in the 3000GT.

Maybe I worded it wrong... Theyre high maintenance. If you take meticulous care of them, theyll be ok. Theyre just touchy.

the gts doesnt do well with boost, the compression in them is way too high to be boosting anything more then maybe 6 psi. unless you plan on doing a full build, including pistons, rods, head junk, etc.. i dont recommend you turboing your car

Yeah Thanks for the replies. Yeah I just want to leave my engine stock and add the turbo kit to it. I dont mind if its only 5 or 6 psi. I'm just wondering how much a shop willl charge me to put it on for me. I work on computers not engines lol

Your probabaly looking at 3-4k for a turbo kit installed, not worth it imo.

most people spend 5-6k for all the parts and getting it installed

and with that kind of psi, your only looking at maybe 50 hp gain tops.. for 4 grand (conservatively), its definitely not worth it imo

Yeah well maybe they will make the 2010 Ecplise with an option for a turbo in it.
