What kind of intake?

RE: What kind of intake?
There's plenty of info on cold air intakes vs. ram air in the forums... I just read a whole page worth that someone wrote just on that comparison. Ram air is safer in terms of flooding, but cold air creates more horsepower gain.

RE: What kind of intake?
ram air is basically the intake n a filter...CAI is kina tha same but it includes piping. The longer the piping the cooler the air I think. But if U live sumwhere where theres puddles or flooding it aint a good idea since most people put the intake under the car for air...U dont want to get water in ur intake from puddles n flooding.
So if U wanna try n pipe ur way thru ur engine bay n avoid puddles n floods n ****...go wit CAI...other than that, go wit ram air.

ok get a CAI you can feel a diference between CAI and RAM. if you get a CAI then remove the extention you can make it a RAM by doing this if say the rain gets bad. I used to do this all the time it takes about 5 minutes to remove the extention and put the filter directly to the MAS instead you will always be safe just remember a screwdriver

Exactly that's definately the easy way about it. Remember the colder the air the better the fuel burn and the more power you get. In other words cold air = more power. Now a ram air will shove more air due to smoother piping and a better filter element BUT it is still taking the air from close to the engine (A MAJOR heat source remember). Now the CAI is going to take the air from BELOW the car where it'sll be noticably cooler. Therefore you'll have the smooth piping AS WELL as the cold air. I suggest doing what Emonz says it's a good idea and fairly simple.
